re: media blitz.. Just popping in to read up on that... I can tell you the AMD thread is very disappointed about the Cobalt news: there had been several reports/rumours in the tech media that Sun was going to go with an AMD athlon solution and get AMD a breakthrough in the server department.. but when a press release gets issued saying the CPU used is going to be "733 or 933"/// and considering AMD doesnt use 33 mhz increments in its processors.. its pretty easy to guess who Sun is using. Dissappointing to AMD fans I guess because everyone thought Intel and Sun havent exactly been the best of friends of late.. and with Sun endorsing AMD's SLedgehammer approach and myraid rumours that Sun might be interested in a takeover of AMD ,, it was thought with the Athlon performing so well and at its lower cost structure to a P-III, it had a serious chance.. but apparently not.. any particular reason that Sun decided to choose Intel? the AMD thread is of course involved in conspriacy theories that BArrett pulled an Xbox on AMD again by enticing Sun with discounts on CPU prices etc..
