Active traders who go through E*Trade or Ameritrade: Trade 15-40 times a year They account for 16% of online trading They are decreasing their trading 37% Self-directed traders: Trade less than 15 times a year They account for 4% of online trading All of this means that the tough are only getting tougher. Day-trading “wanna-be’s” are dropping out.
