Just how did you expect our soldiers to get food and other supplies to warring enemies? The warlords would never allow aid and comfort to their enemies. This was well known at the time. Either the conservatives, who were just kicked out of office, had no idea what they were doing, had their head typically in the sand, or had some other motivation for starting this disastrous military mission.
