Elmer, I disagree. AMD is not ahead in process technology as you claim, they are behind. The fact that AMD uses copper simply means AMD had to use copper to remain competitive. The Athlon reaches higher speeds than P3 because of it's design, not the process. P4 is well ahead of Athlon in frequency, not soley because of design as P4 will see 2GHz on the current .18u process. I am not going to disagree, but since you can make a reasonable point that either one is slightly ahead, the conclusion is that they are probably at parity. Regarding P4 @ 2 GHz, AMD claims Palomino @ 1.7 GHz, which due to better frequency scaling of P4 again points to basically a parity. This is far cry from Amy's statement "I expect AMD to fall further behind in technology" when the fact is that AMD used to be far behind and just caught up within last 6 months. Joe
