Sony continues to pour money into Memory Stick. Two connected digital cameras? A mobile phone and PC connection? (I would guess that a mobile phone 10 meters from a PC would be called an immobile phone.) digitalkamera.de Sony Japan has announced the development of a bluetooth module in the Memory Stick format. The interchangeable data storage medium, which looks like a strip of chewing gum, could begin a new life as a bluetooth expansion module named InfoStick. Sony’s vision of the future includes digital cameras that can communicate with each other or with a bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or computer within a range of 10 meters via the InfoStick, without the need for connection leads or even sight contact. The InfoStick weighs 4 grams; its dimensions are 21.5 x 55 x 2.8 mm and it transmits/receives data at a speed of 1 Megabit/second, working at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The InfoStick is currently only a prototype. It should however not take very long until it reaches production stage. Help me understand this innovation. Aus
