VIA chip sets are consistently slower than Intel's - yet they have a very bad reputation for incompatibility and instability. I'll bet lots of folks buy them - just because "it ain't Intel and it's CHEAPER!" (Until you add in the cost of the PC2100 SDRAM !) paul
