Karma.

As I remember it, Willie Brown became Speaker of the Assembly, because of the Republicans of the Assembly. I seem to recall that Someone else was the front runner in the Democratic Party for Speaker. The Republicans got together with a few of Willie's supporters and voted for him to be the Speaker of the Assembly-pulling a fast one on the then current leadership of the Democratic Party in the State Assembly. Does anyone else remember this?

Once he got in, the Republicans couldn't get rid of him till they managed to get the voters to pass term limits.

I was told that the people he backed in the recent local elections in San Francisco didn't fare well (though, I didn't check the results myself). I hear that voters are happier with the OTHER Mayor Brown.
