NEWS RELEASE
RE: Satellite Imagery Study - Geophysical Compilation - Drilling Permits
In light of the Company's recently completed $1,200,000 financing HAWKEYE has launched its 1997 work program for its TRI-REBA, MO and CEO claims (the "properties") situated in the Betty Ray Lake region, located approximately 150 kilometers northwest of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.
In commencing our 1997 work program the Company has initiated a satellite remote sensing survey combined with a geophysical integration and interpretation over the region of its properties. The area to be included in the study is approximately 180 km wide and 350 km long centered over the TRI-REBA, MO and CEO properties. It is expected that the integration of the geological, geophysical and satellite remote sensing investigation, combined with the results of last years completed airborne geophysical survey data, will provide additional critical information to further define the structural geology and provide insights as to the continuity of the lithologic rock units in the region. This work will contribute to HAWKEYE's follow-up first and second stage detailed geological mapping and ground geophysics programs expected to commence in mid to late June, 1997.
At the same time the Company has applied to the Mining Recorders office of the Northwest Territories to secure drilling permits for its properties in anticipation of a recommended third stage drilling program and expects to receive approval for these permits within the next sixty days.
A news release will follow shortly with regards to the commencement date and particulars of the Company's first and second stage follow-up detailed geological mapping and ground geophysics programs on its TRI-REBA, MO and CEO Uranium, Copper, Cobalt, Gold and Bismuth properties.
