>>>Bluetooth, like any other high tech creation, needs a killer app. <<<< Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Bluetooth is meant to eliminate the tangle of wires and cables that now connect various devices - printers, PCs, scanners, etc. In other words, we wouldn't have to worry about whether we had the right cable connected to the right device, or have to keep devices just a cable-length away from one another. It would give us some flexibility in being able to have devices in two different rooms, but still "connected". I find that a very compelling reason to want Bluetooth. Right now I have a second computer that I don't have room for next to the other computer, so it's in a different room. Instead of sharing a printer, I have to have a second printer, scanner, etc. With Bluetooth, I could put my second computer anywhere and share the same printer, scanner, etc. Sounds like a great idea to me - especially where families have one computer for the parents and another for the children. Both could share the same printer, etc., and it's all done wirelessly! Betty |
