Kind of like a smart venture capital fund ... better reasoning than "it has just been beat up and is a gorilla stock," but not convincing to me ...My disdain for Mr. Bill and his tactics may be coloring my own opinion.

For years people said that growth in the levels of IT spending couldn't be maintained, and of course there is much statistical fiction that has been sold to the public, but many were dead wrong in calling a precipitous drop years early. Since such a downturn in this kind of spending is really "new" -- from the standpoint that this kind of technology hasn't been widely applied before -- it will be interesting to see if all the pundits are correct about how managers view the necessity of IT spending in a short or a prolonged downturn.
