Get real, Jim. They worked on the improved core for 18 months now. Do you really think they realized after 18 months works that they couldn't reach their goals? The core is already finished, samples were shipping in December and production is about to begin. There won't be any major changes now. It just takes some time to redesign a core and only an one quarter slip is very good IMO. The original K7 was supposed to come out in Q1 1999, then in 1st half 1999 and it really appeared in August. Probably the same concerns from you would have applied then. But as we all know they would have been completely unfounded. Chip design is a very complex process and it's very difficult to estimate shipping dates in advance.
