Jim, I've learned not to trust roadmaps! Every chip and chipset over the last 3 years has been late, from both AMD and Intel. A roadmap date is the earliest date a product will be ready if everything goes perfectly.

To mention a few:
K6-3 was very late, Athlon was late, KX133 chipset was late, KT133 was late
Coppermine was late, i820 was very, very late, i815 was late, P4 was late
Both Palomino core and P4 1.7 GHz are delayed a quarter
KM133 is overdue, SiS/ALi integrated and DDR chipsets hard to find.
Intel 0.13 PIII Too-a-Late-In 2K01 (now Q3)
P4 SDRAM chipset and DDR chipset are delayed 3 months and 6 months
PC2100 is late.
