o/t Girl Friday re: Catfish.... Never knew he was that "mean"... The Oakland A's of the mid 70's were one of the great teams in BB history imho... Catfish, Johnny Blue Moon Odom, Vida Blue, Kenny Holtzman & Rollie Fingers in the Pen... they had the names, the look & the swagger... kind of the Oakland Raiders of Baseball back then... Add Sal Bando, Joe Rudi, Bert Campaneris and the guy who had the hubris to call himself a "SuperDuper Star" - #44, Mr. October - Reggie Jackson... I remember that Sports Illustrated Cover with "SUPERDUPER STAR" on the cover with Reggie in that classic Home Run Swing pose...big stride, knee on the ground - pure power... and I'll never forget the one he hit off the light tower on the Roof of Tiger Stadium during the All Star Game - one of my top 10 sports memories...along with his homer against the Dodgers.... Reggie was one of my fav's... talked the talk & when the going got tough - walked the walk better than nearly anyone....Mr. Clutch personified. Charley O' & Orange baseballs... those were the days to be a kid...
