You know there are so many trading techniques and methods and strategies, its very hard to sort through them. It is my opinion that every method is just a different way of looking at the same thing. I see so many recurring themes, and different phrases for the same thing, that it is almost comical.

So what I have come to think, is that it is not so important what strategy or technique you chose, as long as you go about learning that strategy systematically and stick to it. For every strategy there are people who are successful with that strategy and people who are unsuccessful with that strategy. So what interests me is not so much the strategies themselves, but what do those people have in common? Usually it is a certain discipline to stick to that strategy. They have found a strategy that they like and can stick to.

I personally like to keep it as simple as possible. Some of these TA methods make my head hurt. But others love pouring over charts and triangles and a thousand variables. Some like to read tape, some like to read charts, some like to read level two. But they are all just ways of watching a stock move. So find what you like, go about it systematically, and stick to it, with discipline and a passion.
