With reduced guidance for next quarter, and even a missed earnings these semi-equipment stocks keep moving up!!!

CMOS states that revenue will shrink by 40% and the stock recovers nicely. TER says that next quarter revenue will be at least 10% less next quarter and earnings will be cut in half. So the stock trades up. INTC guides down and the stock is up. This is the exact reverse of last quarter when projections were healthy for this quarter and the stocks tanked in direct proportion to the optimism of their outlook.

What would happen if a semi-company such as LRCX did not guide lower for next quarter? Would the stock go down?

Any good theories to explain this phenomenon?
