Hi, folks .. likely I've missed a lot here and ...
...will apologize in advance if this notion has already been addressed.
Why is it that the religion-focused institution of 'marriage' has become so intertwined with government?
The social fabric 'requires' weddings to occur in churches whether or not the people are 'religious.'
LOL.
I know so many people who, because of their mothers, fathers, upwards thru their own 'supply chain' of being ... endured 'church weddings' and in cases of Catholicism back in the pipeline, actually endure six weeks, is it? of 'premarital counseling' required to stage a wedding in a Catholic church ...
This preposterous exercise is facilitated by a male priest whom is sanctioned as never having had sexual intercourse. Period. Heterosexual, I guess, is what 'they' have in mind .... the Pope? LOL.
The people I know find the 'Church' and its ideology ridiculous ... as do I, of course.
Until the old crew dies off, I suppose, will logic become the 'law of the land.'
And then I see the foolish right-wingers of my own generation and gasp in utter disbelief.
Jesus christ: don't you people of my generation realize the whole silly scheme of things?
Only thing I can fathom is that you must still be trying to please your fantastical June-and-Ward Cleaver-style parents -- alive or dead, they're living on in your heads.
