I was in a similar position as I was running a TNT1 and a Voodoo 2 with a p2400, and upgraded to a GeForce MX 32 and was very pleasantly surprised by the framerate increase and better details. I then tried a GeForce GTS Pro with 64 MB DDR and didn't get much better results than with the GeForce MX - but some research and Tom's and Anandtech showed that with slower processors, you wouldn't see much difference at higher or lower resolutions on relatively low-end processors such as ours. But with faster processors, the GeForce 2 MX lack of memory bandwith becomes clearly a constraint above 1024x768 resolutions, and/or when going to 32 bit color depths. Still, the GeForce 2 mx seems to be a hell of a card for the money, and beats ATI's and 3dfx's (RIP) offerings to hell most of the time. I used to own some NVDA, and bought about 200 shares a couple of weeks ago when it was about 30. Wish I'd bought a boatload more at those prices. NVDA corp. is a class act - excellent execution and keeping the technology lead in a very competitive space with very short product cycles seem to be something they've really mastered - wish AMD would take a page from their book.
