Assuming your interest in valence is genuine and not simply an excuse to tout idti - which really is in bad form - your appraisal misses the mark.

Toshiba, Sony, et al are empires that are building batteries primarily for there own use. You buy Sony for many reasons - You buy Valence for the batteries.

Valence is one of the few pure battery plays.
