Hi J, fancy seeing you here <g>. Banderacom gets an Overseer and elevates a Barker. Things must be heating up, or the VCs want to heat things up.

InfiniBand Silicon Leader, Banderacom, Adds VP of Engineering To Lead InfiniBand Technology Development

Industry Veteran Will Propel Technology Leader Ahead of Competitors

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 17, 2001--Banderacom(tm), a leading fabless InfiniBand(tm) semiconductor company, today announced the hiring of semiconductor industry veteran Terry Hulett as vice president of engineering.

In this new role, Hulett will oversee the execution of all technology research and development, managing the expansion of Banderacom's product development organization.

Hulett brings 20 years of engineering experience developing microprocessors and related technologies. Before joining Banderacom, Hulett was vice president of research and development for Austin-based Si Solutions Inc. Prior to this, he held key positions at Advanced Micro Devices (``AMD'') and Motorola Semiconductor, leading several microprocessor development teams. At AMD, Hulett served as director of engineering, product line manager, design manager and design engineering supervisor. At Motorola Semiconductor, Hulett was a circuit design project leader.

``Terry's expertise and experience will enable Banderacom to reach the aggressive, time-sensitive goals we have set for ourselves,'' said Les Crudele, president and CEO, Banderacom. ``With over 200 companies currently in the InfiniBand marketspace -- including IBM and Intel -- time-to-market will be an important success factor for us. Terry has the technical and business knowledge to keep us ahead of our competitors.''

``Of all the opportunities in the Austin semiconductor market, Banderacom is the only company that offers the combination of a genuine team-building environment, significant business growth potential and stable venture capital backing in a dynamic new market,'' said Terry Hulett, vice president of engineering, Banderacom. ``The emerging InfiniBand marketplace presents interesting challenges in both the level of competition and time-to-market. I am confident that the talent and experience at Banderacom will enable us to achieve our goal of leading the InfiniBand revolution.''

In addition, one of Banderacom's founding team members, Eric Johnson, has been named vice president of business development. Johnson will be responsible for securing additional venture funding, developing strategic partnerships, building sales channels and working with senior management to guide the company's growth.

InfiniBand technology is a high-performance channel-based semiconductor architecture that provides increased scalability and reliability for servers and other Internet infrastructure equipment. Using a packet-based switching fabric, InfiniBand technology is expected to meet the need for faster, less congested and more reliable data transport through the Internet.
