Given a choice, I wouldn't be without it. Unlike Steve, I get a fair amount of email attachments and install my share of downloaded programs so I have opted for full-time protection. On the learning thread we are kept up to the minute (shouldn't do it this way but I've gotten used to it) on new virus definitions and program updates by the thread-head mr.mark (thanks). I also feel sure that Steve taxes his system much more than I so the performance and resource hit is not as critical to me as it would be to him. On my system (98SE) having full protection enabled is a 4% hit. I run windoctor, fast and safe cleanup, and defrag daily. Keep your rescue disks up to date...saved my bacon a couple of times.

tc :-)
