Nope.

The events panned out just as I portrayed. AMAT, NVLS, etc DID receive more downgrades relative to Klic in December. In addition, Klic DID outperform those two, by a significant margin, in the period September-December.

My opinion HAS changed to the degree that I believe the entire sector has bottomed and that the worst news, including analyst downgrades, is probably out for the majority of SEM stocks.

As I've been implying over the last couple of days here, it's basically dart throwing time for the equipment stocks: choose ANY one and you'll probably get a 100%+ return by the end of the year.

Right now I'm seeing a textbook recovery 6 months hence; the 50-70% rally in the sector so far is thus not only completely reasonable, the sustainability of the recovery is fully logical. We've been through a complete cycle since Fall, 1998 and we've now begun anew. Expect this one to end Spring, 2002.

This is not rocket-, nor neuro-, science.
