Show us a an issue report that supports your claims.

I don't have that problem with my OLD OfficeJet 500 and I just checked the Microsoft & HP Support sites and didn't see that reported as an issue on either site.

HP did say that they had a bug in THEIR software (not the drivers)

I didn't find any issues re: CD290 on the Kodak site either.

I think the problems you claimed to encounter can be classified as Error 40.
