Of course any given single "trade" in an illiquid stock might end up profitable. Overall the likely success rate in time is very low. The outcome of single trades is irrelevant. How has your strategy "trading" stocks with volumes under $50000 day produced returns over a period of time, say for the entire year 200? I rest my case...
