Thursday, January 18, 2001 By Michael Liedtke
SAN FRANCISCO — The power crisis shut down California's main gasoline artery for more than 10 hours Thursday for the third consecutive day, raising the threat of widespread fuel shortages.

Kinder Morgan Energy couldn't pipe gasoline from major California refineries to terminals around the state for 12 hours Thursday, after experiencing similar outages the previous two days.

William,

Thanks. The CEO for Kinder was on CNBC yesterday saying that the company's profits were on track inspite of the disruptions...not that I was concerned. ;~))

Glad to see someone trying to push CA to respond to the crisis in an effective way....the jawboning in Sacramento is getting old. I think G. Davis has been hoping for some kind of national response based upon CA's importance to the national economy......that approach does not seem to be working.

Let's hope they take the kind of action that removes the crisis and replaces it with a problem that needs to be resolved.
