My hubby just came by and I told him what the subject of our conversation was. He says the two leaders for his Boy Scout troop were an unmarried, non-parent marine and his longtime and married pal, an alcoholic who used the camping trips as occasions to get falling-down drunk in the absence of his wife. The boys thought it was funny. It never occurred to him that either of the guys were gay. But let's take this situation and assume hypothetically that they are straight and taking young girls out to the woods, or gay (just the marine or both of them) and taking young boys out to the woods. I feel uncomfortable with each of these scenarios.
