On the "inclusive" front, this amusing article just showed up on the AP wire.

GOP Officials Push 'Uniter' Efforts nytimes.com

Celebrating the inauguration of a
self-described ``uniter,'' Republican officials, both gay and straight,
launched a new effort Friday to help the party become more tolerant of
homosexuals and others outside its traditional base.

``Politics is a game of addition, it's not a game of subtraction,'' said Rep.
Tom Davis, R-Va., chairman of the National Republican Congressional
Committee, the fund raising and recruitment apparatus for the House
GOP.

Charles Francis, chairman of the newly formed Republican Unity
Council, said the organization will use its alliance of gay and heterosexual
Republicans to help the party expand.

Er. I don't recall anything from Ashcroft on that front, but the thumper crowd usually isn't much into that kind of inclusiveness. Something to do with Leviticus, I think, and our "Christian Nation".

Cheers, Dan.
