Personelly I could not short the top and buy the bottom to save my life. By the tops or bottoms I tend to be out of the market, but the market will usually have me inactive by this time. Of a person was wanting to pick tops and bottoms the best way to do it, IMO would be to key in on expansions of range and volume. I don't have the ability to post charts anyplace, but if some one was to post a daily and weekly chart of March Cocoa (CCH1) I could provide an example of a trade which could gave signals to enter near a bottom, and exit signals in at what I would guess is a top for at least the short term.
