Official Rules Open Only to Premium Silicon Investor Members who are Natural Persons who are Legal United States Residents, 18 Years of Age or Older, Logging in from the United States and the District of Columbia, Void in Arizona, Puerto Rico and Where Prohibited by Law No Purchase Necessary 1. HOW TO ENTER: No purchase necessary. Your participation constitutes full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these rules. This “Stock Picking Contest on Silicon Investor®” (“Contest”) begins on February 1, 2001 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and ends on February 28, 2001 at 3:59:59 p.m. ET (the “Contest Period”). You can enter the Contest by picking five (5) U.S. stocks (Nasdaq, AMEX, NYSE, OTC: BB only) and posting a message to the contest thread at siliconinvestor.com or before January 31, 2001, 11:59 p.m. ET. After market close on February 1, 2001, create a public portfolio at siliconinvestor.com with the five (5) stocks you picked. The name of the portfolio should be the same as your Silicon Investor alias (posting name). For the “purchase price,” you must enter the opening price of the stock on February 1, 2001. For the “number of shares,” enter one hundred (100) for each of the five stocks you select for your public portfolio. After you create the portfolio, click on the link to “share it with others.” This will make it a public portfolio. Respond to your original post with the URL of your public portfolio. All submissions must be the original selections of the entrant and must not infringe on any third party rights. Only properly submitted entries will be eligible, and users will not be able to change publicly posted portfolios at any time during the Contest Period. Limit one Silicon Investor Premium Membership per entrant, and multiple attempts to enter made by the same individual using multiple Silicon Investor Premium Membership accounts will be disqualified. Contest sponsored by InfoSpace, Inc., Pier 70, 2801 Alaskan Way, Suite 200, Seattle, WA 98121 (“InfoSpace”). 2. ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open only to natural persons who are legal residents of the United States, 18 years of age or older at time of entry, logging in from the United States and the District of Columbia, and who are Silicon Investor Premium Members as of January 31, 2001 This Contest is void in Arizona, Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. Entrants must have Internet access as of January 31, 2001 Employees and their immediate families, including household members, of InfoSpace, its affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible.
3. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: You must be the registered subscriber of the e-mail account and the Silicon Investor Premier Membership Account by which the entry is made prior to February 1, 2001. Incomplete entries or improperly posted public portfolios will not be accepted. Public portfolios that are changed after they are posted February 1, 2001 to February 28, 2001 will be disqualified. All entries become the property of InfoSpace. By entering this Contest, you consent to InfoSpace’s use of your name for promotional purposes, including online announcements, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. No correspondence about entries will be entered into, nor will stock pick submissions be acknowledged or returned. InfoSpace is under no obligation to use any stock picks submitted. Neither InfoSpace, nor its respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, or any telephone network or service providers are responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any Web site or online service, or any other error or malfunction. 4. WINNER SELECTION During the Contest Period, InfoSpace will publish the top five performers based on percentage of returns daily on the contest thread. On March 5, 2001, InfoSpace will post the winners on this thread based on overall percentage of returns during the Contest Period. In the event of ties in the judging process, duplicate prizes will be awarded. In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the holder of the Silicon Investor Premier Membership account. The winners will be determined on or about March 2, 2001 by tabulating the top ten (10) and the last place eligible entries based on overall percentage returns. Decisions are final with respect to all aspects of the Contest. The winners will be notified by telephone and/or mail and/or e-mail. If, in InfoSpace’s sole and absolute discretion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Contest, or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, without notice, InfoSpace reserves the right to terminate the Contest and tabulate the top ten (10) and the last place eligible entries based on overall percentage of returns received as of the termination date to award the prizes. Any attempt to deliberately damage the content or operation of this Contest is unlawful and subject to legal action by InfoSpace or its agents to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Acceptance of prize constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use winners' names, hometowns, likeness photographs, statements made by winners about the promotion and/or prize information for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation.
5. PRIZES: The entrants who submitted the top ten (10) and last place stock picks will be awarded prizes as follows:

Third Place: $150 and limited edition plaque (total approximate retail value of $200) 4. Fourth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 5. Fifth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 6. Sixth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 7. Seventh Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 8. Eighth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 9. Ninth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 10. Tenth Place: One (1) Silicon Investor t-shirt (approximate retail value of $12.99) 11. Last Place: $100 and limited edition trophy (total approximate retail value of $150)
All prize monies are in U.S. dollars. The prizes will be sent via the United States Postal Service, first class. InfoSpace will pay shipping and handling fees. All taxes, fees (other than shipping and handling fees) and surcharges on prizes won, if any, are the sole responsibility of the respective winners. No prize substitution, cash substitution, or assignment or transfer of prizes is permitted, except by InfoSpace for reason of unavailability in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded.
6. GENERAL: This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited. Participants are responsible for all costs or charges involved in accessing the World Wide Web and warrant that the cost of accessing the Internet, if any, is part of a larger agreement with an Internet Service Provider or some other means, and that the cost of this access and/or the time spent, if any, to configure their Web site is not an incremental cost in order to participate in the Contest. InfoSpace is not responsible for those who cannot access the Internet or cannot click-through for any period of time regardless of technical, hardware, software, telephone, Internet, virus contamination, or network problems, for delay, failure or malfunction or any reason. The winners agree that InfoSpace, its affiliates and its agencies and employees shall not be liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participating in this Contest or from the acceptance or use of any prize awarded. InfoSpace reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of any winner. United States law governs this Contest.
