Nice idea for a thread, in view of the Belligerent & Perpetually Indignant Right's domination of SI. Those who are tired of this righteously indignant (or indignantly righteous) din need a place to relax.

But one thing puzzles me -- where are the "true" Lefties? I have read here and there in the thread, and all I have found so far are Clinton/Gore supporters. Surely you don't buy the Republican line that Clinton is/was a "left-winger"??!! Or Gore, for that matter??

I mean, are there no Naderites, at least, on SI? (Not to speak of socialists, anarchists, even communists?) What about a good old-fashioned Wobbly or two? Just to get some sparks flying?

Or is Leftism incompatible with participation in the stock market?

Looks as if we will soon have to start raiding cemeteries and digging up our ancestors to find a real, fire-breathing American Lefty...
