How is it?

For me it has been great. No way I'd go back. Even though I miss playing with supercomputers. For me they were supertoys. I always have had more interests than time.

That said, I realize it's not for everyone. SI is replete with stories (and we all have heard ones in our neighborhoods) of people who retire and then (perhaps out of boredom) go back. Or worse soon die. I believe that if you don't get up in the morning and wonder how you are "going fit it all in", you've got a serious problem. Enthusiastic activity keeps one alive.
