In case any storage nuts here are interested, the excellent thread here at SI that formerly was named "A Fibre Channel Future?" which Douglas Nordgren began in October of 1997 had a name change update to reflect the transition in the industry since that thread began. This past week it was changed to "Son of SAN - Storage Networking Technologies". It's always a good source of industry knowledge that is worth skimming and reading if you hold any storage related companies.

Subject 17781

The thread has maintained a 'portfolio basket' of companies since that time as they went public and were added to the 'basket'. With the name change update, the basket was 'narrowed down' from 20+ stocks to 9 stocks that reflect the consolidation process. Unfortunately, Douglas didn't use the original dates of the 9 remaining to reflect what large increases they've had since the basket was begun. The new 'basket' contains the following leading stocks being tracked and discussed on that thread:

Brocade
EMC
Emulex
Inrange
McData
Network Appliance
QLogic
Storage Networks
Veritas

BB
