OK, this does not prove my previous statement, but at least helps to point out the extent to which male rape takes place. Since most rapes are not reported, we might never know the true numbers. This is taken from an interview of a sexual assault expert:

Points to note:

The FBI does not track male rape.
Estimated that 10% of prisoners are raped. Out of 1.8 million, that would be 180,000 males. Many of whom are subjected to repeated rapes.
So, even though I can't prove my previous statement and in fact, I am willing to admit, it may be wrong (I guess you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV), I will assert that male rape is much more widespread than is commonly known.
Also, as a personal anecdote, though I was never actually assaulted, I was sexually harassed by homosexual men as a teenager.

Dr. McEvoy:

The FBI Uniform Crime Reports places the number of REPORTED instances of female rape in excess of 80,000 each year. Estimates are that the true number is much, much higher. The FBI does not track male rapes. Moreover, correction officials are not required to track the number of male rapes that occur in prisons. Also, there are approximately 1.8 million males behind bars at this time, and estimates suggest that perhaps 10% or more of male prisoners will be raped while incarcerated. Also, we know
that the equivalent of "date rape" occurs within the gay community, though we do not have reliable statistics on the true incidence. Acquaintance rape in general, regardless of whether the victim is male or female, is less likely to be reported than assault by a perpetrator who is a stranger. Yet the majority of rapes involve perpetrators and victims who are known to one another. Simply stated, we do not know the true magnitude of the problem of all forms of sexual violence, whether involving male or female victims.
