I just realized I may have created some confusion with my post concerning the implications of the SST/Vanguard foundry announcement---that is if anyone actually reads my posts <ggg>. In the official announcement, Bing Yeh talks about expanding into "higher density flash markets." Although we need to get some more explanation about the agreement at the CC next week, I believe what Bing is referring to near term is scaling Superflash into higher, low density code storage markets. This is different than attacking the high density data storage market where Toshiba, Sandisk, Hitachi, Lexar and others reside. Attacking higher, low density code storage markets was also what I was referring to in my post about using the new smaller process geometries and scaling the Superflash architecture.
