Joel, with farming, producing below cost brings another very important issue although it doesnt belong to this thread... Land use and degradation.

Over here (Japan) , seems we have had the opposite in food prices , tehy just keep coming down... (granted they are probably on average 2x teh us, in many cases 4x ...) Nevertheless i always wonder about that really cheap Chinese chicken imports... What do tehy feed them?
