-- SunnComm Inc. (OTC: SUNX) and Fahrenheit Entertainment (OTC: FHOT) Wednesday set the date of March 8, 2001 for the release of the first copy-protected audio CD.
SunnComm President Peter H. Jacobs stated, "Our licensing agreement with Fahrenheit Entertainment allows both companies to be at the forefront in the fight against intellectual property theft."
Fahrenheit will be provided with the SUN-X Sentinel(R) "Mastering Suite" for MLX(R) copy protection, and full access to SunnComm's technical support staff. Our technology partnership with Fahrenheit Entertainment will provide the opportunity to release America's first copy-protected audio CD recording on March 8, 2001.
Peter Trimarco, president of Fahrenheit Entertainment said, "Attention to this
issue is not solely the burden of the major labels; the independent labels
have a responsibility to do everything possible to protect the rights of their artists."
The artist to be featured on this historic record is actress/performer Stepfanie Kramer, (Hunter TV series). She will also be featured in the up-and-coming issue of People Magazine. The CD, entitled "One Dream," is her debut effort and will be released for full international distribution.
