Re: Making up NEW LIES Dan? Just WHAT SMP chip did Micron ever produce - and WHEN ?

It outperformed Intel chipsets because it had an i/o bus 4 times as fast as Intel chipsets. Supposedly Intel pressured Micron to stop shipping the chipset.

The Powerdigm XSU features Micron's Samurai chip set, which promises higher system bandwidth and support for Ultra SCSI, Gigabit Ethernet, or Fibre Channel I/O. Slots on the motherboard include one (66-MHz) 64-bit PCI, two (33-MHz) 32-bit PCI, and two ISA. The system supports up to two Pentium II CPUs and comes with your choice of a Diamond Fire GL or Number Nine Revolution 3D video card. Standard features include the Pentium II, a 512-KB L2 cache, up to 384 MB of RAM, a 24X CD-ROM drive, and up to a 9-GB Ultra SCSI hard drive. The system starts at $5199 with a single processor.
