George, "the Bear is not over". Interesting article in the Saturday Business section of the local paper on Home Depot's profit warning and forecast for the future. HD President and Chief Executive makes the following statements: -> sliding economy and collapsing market for building products. -> we're facing a harsh and rapidly downward spiraling economic environment, and that's putting an intense competition for the customer's wallet. -> he blamed external factors on HD's woes, including soaring energy costs and the evaporation wealth effect that's hurting consumer confidence. Interesting comments from the top management of a retail titan. PF
