OpenBSD looks very interesting. Thanks for the links. The author of the first article makes the same point I've been making about fixed IPs:

"I've heard from a number of people who over
the past few years have gotten broadband
connections at home and within very short order
had their home network port-scanned by
outsiders.

If you think your network -- home or office, tiny or
vastly corporate -- doesn't need real security
these days, you're living in denial."

It's going to take me awhile to assimilate OpenBSD. One thing I love about my wonderful freebie firewall Zonealarm is the amazing stealth that it produces. I have tried various security testers on it and none of them have ever been able to detect ANY presence of my computer on the net! So this would be my goal for a server/router network setup.
