OT: meeting place, nyc, just a few thoughts of the area...
go *west* of marriott, if possible. the reason is that tons and tons of people crowd into the restaurants right there, whether a nice fish n chips place like cartwright's (50th/7th), the bbq places (virgil, or the one next to caroline's), and that kind of place.
i'd suggest, if you don't mind walking, going towards 9th avenue. 1) it's a restaurant row, with tons of ethnic foods from all over 2) because it's 2 blocks west, less of the midtowners go there.
less is a relative term, of course.
