Distortions are different than calling someone a criminal- I would argue that distorting my position on masturbation is certainly not libelous. Calling me a vagitarian isn't really either. Calling someone a drug user when they are not one is a patent untruth, and is defamatory- that is quite different from a distortion and is the only actionable item- imo.
