Nothing one looks at closely is ever what one thought it was on first glance, though, is it? Isn't that a fact, though! The answer is probably somewhere there in the demographics. I can think of some possibilities, but I'm too tired to follow up right now. It might be that the primary care giver being removed from the picture is more likely to destroy the family make-up (I assume for now that visitation overall is concentrated in families). I think, as well, that I noticed that many of these offenders were single mothers--also many drug offenders. Many assmptions could be made about the family constellation even before incarceration. As I said, just throwing out some guesses here...
