there is one more thing. For shorting, on the order page I can sell as well as "sell short". The manuals do not elaborate on that:

SELL:
To take on a short position in a particular security/commodity.
SSHRT: Sale of a security or commodity futures contract not owned by the seller; a technique used (1) to take advantage...

Now I heard that at another broker (using RT3 or CyberTrader) sell short is mandatory for opening a short position and entering a plain "sell" is illegal if there is no approbiate long position to sell.

How does IBT behave? Is there a technical distinction or are both ways leading to the same result?
