Company Press Release

SystemSoft to incorporate Verity's SEARCH'97 technology in flagship
problem-resolution SystemWizard product

NATICK, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1997--

SEARCH'97 Technology Provides Added Technical Support Options

Through Advanced Problem-Resolution Search Capabilities

SystemSoft Corp. (Nasdaq:SYSF) and Verity, Inc., (Nasdaq:VRTY), a leading provider of search and retrieval
applications for the enterprise and the Internet, today announced that SystemSoft will license Verity's
SEARCH'97 technology for integration into its SystemWizard family of automated problem-resolution
products. As a result of this agreement, SystemWizard customers will now have access to search technology that
enables them to find answers to system problems more quickly and efficiently.

By incorporating Verity's SEARCH'97 technology, SystemWizard will supplement its automated
problem-resolution functionality by providing easy-to-use search capabilities that help users to quickly search
through additional text-based support solutions. SystemWizard users will be able to retrieve text-based answers
either locally or across remote solution repositories, thereby saving time and reducing the volume of support
calls to manufacturers. SystemSoft expects to ship the Verity-enhanced version of SystemWizard to OEM's in
mid-1997.

``We remain focused on extending the SystemWizard solution with premium technology that enhances the
customer's PC experience,'' said Robert F. Angelo, chairman, CEO, and president of SystemSoft. ``The
integration of Verity's SEARCH'97 in SystemWizard will enable OEMs to exploit flexible, robust search
technology that brings a new level of usability and friendliness to the PC desktop.''

``We are pleased to partner with SystemSoft because of its leadership in automated problem resolution and
strong OEM channel presence,'' said Philippe Courtot, chairman and CEO of Verity, Inc. ``Verity's
SEARCH'97 platform provides an excellent complement to SystemWizard, helping to further reduce technical
support costs while enhancing customer satisfaction.''
