When the Brits ruled Hong Kong for over 100 years, HK people who own properties couldn't vote either.
So I guess the Chinese leadership is no less oppressive as the British "darwinists" you seem to vilify.
So ? Corruption still exists in Taiwan
And your point is?
There is corruption everywhere, even in the US.
But it is MORE prevalent in societies where "the few" rule over "the many" with no system of accountability to the people as a whole.
IF there's a better money-making opportunity out there, people will emmigrate from the US and into that place.
But they aren't emigrating FROM the US, now are they?
Which suggests that we're doing something right and the other nations are doing something wrong, to include China.
Could it have something to do with our constitutional form of government that acknowledges the worth of the individual over the collective?
However, I was talking about ...if someone wants to kill me in my home backyard, what would you do to defend that?
Well, if you hadn't invaded/annexed them in the first place, they wouldn't be in your backyard in the first place.
When you opt to oppress a people, you have no one to blame but yourselves when they decide to fight back and kick your @sses.
Btw, if the Chinese fight as poorly as you argue, I can see why you're feeling so threatened.
