It is difficult to argue for capital punishment on the basis of this link which seems a reasoned one. My personal choice would be exile to arable (communal) land with a secure fence. No support; No punishment. Use the money to keep innocent children, etc. from being executed by starvation and disease, and other niceties of life. Let them grow up to love and live well. Let these people have the oportunity to live with the kind of values they believe in. Give them a free knife as they pass through the gate. How much more humane can it get? No punishment, good land--freedom. And sleep tight.
