Atlantic Telecom, the UK telecommunications group, on Monday announced a restructuring of its workforce as it continued to refocus its business on providing broadband services to small-to-medium sized enterprises in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

Atlantic said it expected to cut about 350 jobs in the UK, mainly in Manchester and London, in a programme that would produce £30m of cost savings in the next financial year and accelerate it towards profitability.

The refocusing of Atlantic away from its established residential customer base was reflected in the increased take-up of business services in the third quarter
