-- DJ US Conference Board: Down More Than Expected -- NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--The composite index of U.S. leading indicators decreased by 0.6% in December, a significant decline, the Conference Board said Monday. The leading index fell further than market expectations, which had been for a decline of 0.4%. The leading index's 108.3 reading for December followed a revised 109.0 reading for November and a 109.4 reading in October. This was the third consecutive decline, which is sometimes seen as a sign of an approaching recession. Dow Jones Newswires 01-22-01
