dmf, my main reason for responding to Dan3 about Intel buying Sun equipment for their online centers was because that wasn't one iota of what Andy Bryant was referring to when he talked about the 7.5 billion in capex this year. All the talk on the CC was about process and fab equipment like 0.13 micron and 300 mm tools. Dan threw a curve ball in there about Intel buying Sun servers, which they will if their ASP, ISP and enterprise customers ask for them. Certainly, there would be far more Wintel, Lintel, and now we can even have Suntel servers! Intel's message on the huge capex this year is that they intend to use money they have to push the P4, and the PIII (Tualatin) and every other chip that makes sense onto the new processing/fab technologies, very rapidly.

WRT Sun specifically, I've said probably far too much already what I think of their prospects with their price/performance and proprietary stance.
