OT-Bird Dog - since the power situation does have an impact on stocks in a round about way, which recently in the last four months has become much more direct, a little information interjected from time to time on this subject can't hurt. I will have to check out the link in your post.
As a clarification to my post, which I wrote in a hurry, I believe the article stated (I don't have it in front of me- my newspaper is already out in the recycle bin- and I only skimmed it once yesterday morning) most of the power generated by the wind farm during peak wind periods went unused, because the power line hooking it up to the power grid was not sufficient to carry the load. My apologies if I misstated what was said. I was basically trying to communicate the fact that there was power available at 5.5 cents that went unused, because Edison did not invest in the infrastructure/the capacity of the power line, for the reasons stated in my post regarding the cost factor per kilowatt. Now maybe the article should have pointed out the cost of installing a large power line into the area. Maybe for the amount of extra power available it did not make sense, I believe it said the total power available was enough to power 640 homes. The reporter could have helped to better educate people on the economics of wind power, if he had put the cost of building the power line in the article, and also discussed how many more wind mills could be put in, to pump out power over a new power line, and home many homes could be powered by them. I am no expert on this and would have appreciated more information on this.

Please feel free to private post me to give me more information if you feel there is more to be said. It is an interesting subject and I welcome any further information you can provide. Any further public discussion might be better addressed on another thread.

Cheers,
Joe
