From Wright's Investor Service.
"During 2000 the company acquired Saraide Inc, Millet Software and Go2Net, Inc. "
This isn't by a long shot the only example of that in terms of investor info.

This is from the Seattle P-I, Oct. 26, 2000.
"InfoSpace Chief Executive Arun Sarin said the company has responded well to its acquisition of Go2Net as well as its aggressive push into the wireless Internet market."

This is from the Seattle Times, Oct. 13, 2000.
"The high-profile deal in which InfoSpace acquired crosstown rival Go2Net closed yesterday, but at a far lower value than when it was first announced."

I can't remember seeing the deal referred to by any third party as anything but an acquisition. I don't like it, but if you ask me, it was a de facto acquisition.
